Simply Cats: Cat thrown out of moving car has several applications for adoption

A Treasure Valley kitty thrown out of a moving car on an Idaho highway is looking for a new home.

The lovable 2-year-old cat, Lucky, is lucky to be here after all he's been through. Last year, someone tossed him out of a moving car on Highway 51.

Maddie Corey with Simply Cats, a shelter in Boise, says after hitting the pavement, his face was terribly beaten up, requiring major surgery.

Corey says thankfully someone stopped to help Lucky and took him to another local shelter. After all the work he had done, you can hardly tell it ever happened.

Last fall, a family took him in, but Corey says sadly his owners recently lost their home and couldn't bring their little Lucky with them to their next place. Now the playful cat, who loves jumping into people's arms for hugs is looking for his new permanent home.

"He had to experience that pain of being out of a car and he also had to experience that pain of losing his family. We're hoping this third time around he gets his forever home, and he can hug his owners every day for the rest of his life," says Corey.

Corey says if you find a stray cat, or need to surrender yours, there are several local options, such as filling out an intake form online with Simply Cats or taking it to another local shelter.

Anyone interested in Lucky will need to fill out an online form. It costs $25 to adopt adult cats from Simply Cats.

UPDATE: A Simply Cat representative says Lucky has already received several applications for adopton.
