Extra counselors at Nyssa schools after Officer killed in line of duty

Nyssa, Oregon (CBS2) - Extra counselors will be at all Nyssa Schools Monday after an Officer was killed in the line of duty.

The Nyssa School District is also giving families the opportunity to keep children home from school. Parents need to let the school know if their child does stay home.

There will also be modified recesses to limit the time students are outside.

All high school students will be required to stay on campus during lunch. Outside doors will remain locked throughout the day.

School staff members will be at each outside door greeting students.
