Donald Trump returns to Florida following assassination attempt, RNC and Michigan rally

It’s been a busy week for former President Donald Trump.

The Republican nominee was shot at a rally in Pennsylvania, the classified documents case against him was dismissed and he appeared at the Republican National Convention before Saturday's campaign rally in Michigan.

Now, Trump is back in Palm Beach, and his supporters weren’t deterred by the heightened security.

His supporters were out in numbers to welcome him home back to Mar-a-Lago.

“Any one of his supporters that I know personally are willing to take a bullet for the man," said Maria Korynsel. "We will be out in full force any time he needs us.”

Law enforcement agencies were also out in full force following the attempted killing.

Deputies patrolled the motorcade route back to Mar-a-Lago by car, helicopter and boat.

Several Trump supporters that came out Saturday night say the heightened security was not a reason to stay home.

“I’m not afraid at all. They locked down the streets down there, so that’s a good help,” Rocco Talarico told CBS12 News.

“I feel better that the security has been heightened for president trump,” Korynsel added.

Korynsel says she feels more comfortable when trump is here in Florida.

She’s confident that a repeat of Pennsylvania won’t happen here.

“I don’t think anybody would try to attempt to even throw a rock at President Trump down here in Florida because we all carry, and they know they’d be in trouble,” she remarked.

Trump’s next trip out of the Sunshine State appears to be to North Carolina. His website says he’ll be holding a rally in Charlotte on July 24.
