Canyon Ridge High School in Twin Falls locked down
BOISE, Idaho (CBS2) — Multiple reports of a potential active shooter event at Canyon Ridge High School in Twin Falls, ID has been received placing the high school in lockdown.
KMVT reports that according to Twin Falls Police Chief Craig Kingsbury, "emergency crews are on their third sweep of Canyon Ridge High School. There are no injuries reported, and no evidence of shots being fired. Emergency Crews hope to release students soon."
All classes at the College of Southern Idaho are canceled until 1:30 pm while emergency crews continue their sweep of Canyon Ridge High School.
KMVT out of Twin Falls reports that they are hearing it could be a false alarm, with a threat that was called in. A note from the principal of the high school sent to parents states: "It looks like a false report was called in of an active shooter in room 125. There currently is no evidence of this. Everyone is safe. Please continue to stay in lockdown as a precaution. the officers are clearing the building right now," -Kasey Teske Ph.D., Principal.
Twin Falls School District reports that all other schools in the district did go into a soft lockdown as a precaution but there is no threat at those schools. A letter sent from the district to parents says that students with transportation may be collected at 12:05 at the school.
