Bray Wyatt competes in a no-disqualification dark match after SmackDown went off the air

Publish date: 2024-07-31

Bray Wyatt’s return to WWE was one of the biggest moments in wrestling last year. The Eater of Worlds had created a web of teases leading up to the Extreme Rules, where he finally came back. However, follow-up after that moment has been a little lacking. The recent story with Uncle Howdy and LA Knight has left the fans perplexed and frustrated.

The former WWE champion was conspicuous by his absence on the latest episode of Friday Night SmackDown. However, the Connecticut crowd did get to see Wyatt in an off-air segment. Usually, a Raw and SmackDown taping is followed by a Dark match just for the audience in attendance. This time the two superstars who put on the exhibition match were Bray Wyatt and his Royal Rumble opponent, LA Knight.

This encounter between the two rivals was different from the one they had on January 28. Both competitors put up a no-disqualification match for the Connecticut crowd. As expected, Bray Wyatt defeated LA Knight after putting him through the table. While the former “Fiend” has just wrestled one match on screen, he has been wrestling on the live circuit since his return. Bray Wyatt defeated Jinder Mahal in a few House shows leading up to his official return at Royal Rumble.

Who will Bray Wyatt face at WrestleMania?

Despite there being a lack of interest in the latest story, there is no denying that Bray Wyatt has the potential to create memorable moments. Hence, the New Face of Fear will most certainly be a part of WrestleMania this year. While Wyatt is still facing Knight on live shows, the current rumored plans for him are quite different. Some reports disclosed the identity of Bray Wyatt’s WrestleMania opponent. As many fans might have figured out, it will be none other than Uncle Howdy.

The character of Howdy has received negative reactions from fans up until now. It is for sure not the hottest thing in the WWE currently due to the unexplained relationship between Wyatt and his “uncle.” When an image of a masked individual started to interrupt Bray Wyatt during promos last year, many fans thought that it was another alter ego just like the “Fiend.”

Later, when both of the figures stood side-by-side, all these theories were put to rest. Currently, the fans are of the belief that the man who is behind the mask of Uncle Howdy is the real-life brother of Bray, Bo Dallas. As WrestleMania approaches, fans will hopefully learn more about the card and the identity of Howdy.
