Boise gears up for a thrilling 4th of July with parade, breakfast, and flyover

Publish date: 2024-07-10

Thursday is our Independence Day, the 4th of July! We have been working hard with partners around the Valley to make this year's Idaho 4th of July Parade Live from Boise the best one yet.

CBS2 will be broadcasting live from the parade route all morning, beginning at 5:00 am. Events begin early, and there will be something for everyone.

The CapEd Read to Rise hot air balloon will launch around 6:30 am in front of the Idaho Capitol, followed at 7:00 am by the Veteran Entrepreneur Alliance Community Breakfast at Cecil D. Andrus Park across the street.

Patriotic programming begins at 9:00 am on the Capitol steps, with a special flyover planned by the Idaho Air National Guard.

The parade begins at 10:00 am and runs between Bannock St. and Jefferson St. circling at 11th St. and 4th St.

Be sure to arrive early to enjoy everything the morning has planned, and to get a nice shady spot. Temperatures are expected to be in the 90s on the 4th of July.

However you choose to celebrate, Happy 4th of July from all of us at CBS2 Boise.
