Boise State redshirt freshman Allie Ostrander's trophy shelf is getting more and more cluttered.

On Wednesday, the university announced that Ostrander was named the 2016-2017 Mountain West Female Athlete of the Year. She's the first freshman female to win the conference's highest athletic accolade since the award started in 2009.

"All of us at Boise State University congratulate Allie on her national championship and recognition as the top female athlete in our conference," said Bob Kustra, Boise State president. "Her grit and attitude serve as an inspiration and we are glad she represents Boise State University on a national scale."

Ostrander won a national champion in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, clocking a time of 9:41 at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field championships.
